Chief cook and bottle washer of Garris' Bar-B-Que located at 200 William Street in downtown Buffalo, New York, Mrs. Garris passion for cooking began in her grandma’s kitchen at a very early age, where she stood on a chair and did what every her grandma would tell her to do. That zeal she had then is still alive now, as she works sun up to well past sun down to make sure her food is precise and presentable. Before she was blessed with the restaurant she cooked from her garage and at the Pratt Center on Fridays to make sure that the seniors were fed. With all this, she still finds time to volunteer to cook for any event that is asked to serve. She is a very vocal and visible Vice President of the School 47 policy board. No task is too great or too complicated for this quiet and demure lady. Mrs. Garris is a storm trooper though with it comes to getting justice and funding for the Pratt-Willert seniors. She was also a former Vice President of the Pratt-Willert seniors
